Ultimate Light - FAQs

Does FDA need to clear/approve LED therapy systems?

FDA has clarified explicitly that LED is "ordinary light" and hence cannot be subject to the laser-specific regulations. Ultimate Light uses LED for therapy, and it does not require FDA approval. Read the FDA information here. As you will clearly see, they say: "LEDs (Light Emitting Diodes) are different from laser diodes and are not subject to the Federal laser product performance standard."

How does the Ultimate Light work?

The LED emitted by the Ultimate Light allows a part of the stored fat inside the cells (adipose tissues) to move out of the cell wall by altering the cell wall permeability, and the body in turn processes to eliminate the fat. This makes the system biologically effective.

How is fat eliminated?

The fat, stored in cells, is first released via altered permeability of cell walls, which is caused by the LED generated by the unit. The fat, once released in the body, breaks up into fatty acid and glycerol. The fatty acid is used by the body as fuel, or simply eliminatedd - the body naturally selects what to do with it - but either way, the patient gets rid of the stored fat from their body.

What do my patients expect during a session?

The patients simply lie down for about 20 minutes and relax and enjoy the session. The part of their body being worked upon, will be padded up by the straps, and be exposed to the LED under the straps. We offer body-area-specific comfortable pad straps, that will fit the patient's body well and help him/her relax and enjoy the session.

Which areas of the body can be treated?

All the parts of the body that are well-known to be subject to resident fat deposits, can be treated using the Ultimate Light units. This includes the fat deposits resistant to diet and exercises. Hips, waist, upper legs, thighs, upper arms, abdomen - everything (and more parts of the body too, in a targeted manner) can be treated.

What risks (including side effects) need to be accounted for?

While the Lipo Melt treatment is safe and non-invasive, and does not cause any scarring, bruising, or any other side effect, but it is not recommended for pregnant women to get treated, as a precaution. Otherwise, in absence of any side effect, LED therapy is considered as a 100% safe non-invasive alternative to the invasive and intense processes such as traditional liposuction.

Should liver support be recommended to the patients?

Yes. The liver is one of the key organs of the body. Its job is to remove toxins and other byproducts from the body. Since the treatment will release the fatty acid very fast (much faster than what the body/liver normally expects), it is helpful for the liver to receive good support during the treatment days.

What are the dietary requirements? Does drinking more water or reduction of alcoholic consumptions help?

There is no specific dietary requirement as such. Do suggest the patients to somewhat reduce their calorie intake, though that's not mandatory. Drinking a lot of water - anywhere around 9-10 glasses a day, and reducing alcoholic consumption, all will help the liver function better in terms of detoxification.

Are exercises recommended?

Each session that a patient takes, should be followed up by 10-15 minutes of exercises. The aim of the exercises is to increase circulation, that in turn will help in burning the fatty acid that gets released from the tissues. This helps the body metabolism, as well as helps the overall process.

What are the benefits of using Ultimate Light?

Slimming, skin tone/texture and face lift are some of the key benefits. More about the benefits here.

Can you point to scientific evidence that LED/laser treatment works?

A lot of scientific research has been carried out in this regard, and a plethora of peer-reviewed scientific papers have been published by doctors and professors of several universities, as well as the Governments. We cover research in-depth here.
